The French Embassy in India, along with French companies Orange and Michelin, has awarded scholarships to eight students from Hyderabad who opted to pursue a specialized Master’s degree in France. Seven of them were awarded the ’Charpak Scholarship‘ whereas one got the ‘Orange scholarship‘.

As part of its scholarship program, French Embassy has awarded scholarships totaling up to Rs 7.1 crore (1.1 million Euros) to 284 meritorious students from across India.
Mr. Wilfrid Percevault, Statistician Trainer from France gave away the scholarship certificates to the students at the Pre-departure Orientation program organized by Campus France at Alliance Francaise, Hyderabad.

The French Embassy has developed scholarship programs tailored to meet India’s requirement in highly qualified skill pools. To attain this goal, one-third of the scholarships have been earmarked for areas in which France possesses globally recognized know-how in various disciplines like pure sciences, Nanoscience, Information and Communications Technology, Energy and Aerospace.

Pre-departure session

As many as 2445 students have opted for higher education in France last year, and this number, thanks to pro-active endeavours, has jumped by 23% this year.
Ms Vasudha Muralikrishna, Education Advisor, Campus France, Hyderabad, Mrs. Vidya Suresh, Country Manager, ESIGELEC, Mrs. Manisha Kumar, Course Director of Alliance Française  and the Alumni of Campusfrance were present and answered the numerous questions the audience had at the session.  Cox and Kings along with Oman Air were present and had many lucrative offers to the students who were traveling to France for their higher studies.

CampusFrance, present in nine Indian cities, is the governmental agency promoting French higher education, functioning under the aegis of the Embassy of France in India.
