Traveler on Stage at AF Hyderabad
Embarking on a journey is not simply about discovering the external world – it also provides moments of contemplation and self-discovery. It is these journeys which bring people together and allow them to see how we are fundamentally similar despite our striking differences. Keeping this spirit in mind, Alliance Française de Hyderabad collaborated with the French association Traveler on Stage to provide an opportunity to travelers to share their stories.
Originally based in Toulouse, Traveler on Stage has rapidly developped in other cities of France including Paris and Bordeaux. The organization is currently in the process of expanding itself outside of France. A chapter of Traveler on Stage exists in Bulgaria and now, with the help of Alliance Française de Hyderabad, in India. It was with the help of Emile Dumas that the Indian branch of Traveler on Stage was brought to AF Hyderabad. Back in October, seven travelers had been shortlisted to share their experiences on stage. The session took place on December 2, 2016 with each traveler being accorded 6 minutes for their presentation.
The speakers are expected to be well-prepared and to give their best on stage. The event is independent, non-religious, apolitical, non-commercial and open to all travellers. This is an open-event which allows travellers to promote the act of journeying – irrespective of the type of travel, the distance covered, the manner in which the journey is undertaken and the choice of travel partners(s) or even the complete lack thereof. The aim is to de-stress and to let one’s mind wander to far-off lands during the course of an evening! One can reach out to the Indian chapter of Traveler on Stage via their website and Facebook page.
